Not many people have heard of Allergooncology. I certainly have never heard of it until last week when I was reading through my RSS feeds from Medical News Today. Here is a little more about Allergooncology:
New International Field Of Research Established - Allergooncology
Research into the correlations between allergies and the development of tumors - and possible benefits for future cancer treatments - has finally become an established research discipline in its own right. That was the conclusion at the 2nd International AllergoOncology Symposium, which took place in Vienna at the weekend.

Hmmm… A link between allergies and cancer tumors? That is something I have been wondering about for years and I’ll tell you why.
With my own health, I had been feeling ill all my life. Things got really bad for me and after numerous doctor’s and allergist appointments we found I had environmental allergies and multiple severe food allergies. I then saw a nutritionist who further helped me get my health on track. She discovered I had adrenal fatigue as well as being severely malnourished. The news of being undernourished shocked me. I had never been a huge junk food fan; I ate right and took a multivitamin, yet still I ended up undernourished. This got me thinking about food allergies. If my body had been fighting foods for all of those past years, then it stands to reason why I was undernourished. My body was fighting food instead of using it to nourish my body. The thought made sense to me. It also explained why my methods of trying to get enough nourishment didn’t actually work.
Further tests showed I wasn’t getting enough nourishment at a cellular level. My cells had the water they needed, but not the nutrients. This scared me! I wondered if I had gone on much longer, without food allergies being diagnosed and by avoiding those foods, would I be alive today? My cells were not doing well and probably slowly dying without the necessary nutrients.
The fact that my cells went through so much trauma spawned a new path of thought. My thoughts turned to my mother and how she died of a rare form of ovarian cancer. The cancer was so rare it took the doctors a while to discern what kind of cancer she had and they weren’t even sure how to go about treating it. The clincher: my mother didn’t have ovaries. She had a total hysterectomy two years after I was born. She was forty-two. My mother also had food allergies and we share the common wheat allergy. I wondered if her problems with blood sugar, hypertension (high blood pressure), and cancer could have stemmed from hidden food allergies and her body not receiving the nutrients it needed because it was fighting food instead of using it. Something clicked then I went further down that path. Could food allergies cause such dramatic changes in cellular activity as to cause cellular depletion, cellular death, or even cause cells to act irrationally and form cancer tumors? I came to the conclusion that it was possible. It just made sense to me.
I wondered if my mothers food allergies went undiagnosed or so long her cells were in bad shape and this caused certain organs in her body not to function properly. If her body was fighting food instead of using it, then I could see how problems with blood sugar would result. I can see the same for problems with blood pressure. I know when I have a severe allergic reaction my blood pressure drops low enough for me to be come very cold. I too, have problems with blood sugar though I know that stems from adrenal fatigue and the adrenals not able to help aid my body in maintain proper blood glucose levels. My mother could have also possibly had adrenal fatigue as well. If allergies, especially food allergies, go so many years without being diagnosed, the adrenal glands, which play a part in fighting allergies, will become exhausted. This is what happened to me. People with adrenal fatigue have problems maintaining blood sugar levels and their blood pressure can either be low or too high. Hmmm…Some points to ponder, I guess.
