I know all too well about the hardships of living with food allergies and the concerns that come with the condition. Unlike the family in the following article, at the present time, I don’t have any children to have to be concerned about their food allergies. Yet, I am pregnant, due in November 2008, and allergies run in my family and in my husbands. Our children will more than likely have some form of allergy we will need to be concerned about. But that is in the future yet. Read how one family deals with food allergies and their concerns thereof in the article below.

Living With Food Allergies More Than Watching What You Eat

Cameron, family learning to be cautious about everything.



BRACEVILLE – Cameron Abbott’s little brother, Brandon, dotes with a 2-year-old’s glee on ice cream, chocolate pudding, and butterscotch custard.

Cameron, however, is allergic to cow’s milk and eggs.

No cookies for this 4-year-old. No hand soap made with milk derivatives. No scrambled eggs for breakfast. Or pancakes. Toast without butter.

“What will we do when he goes to school?” his dad, Chris Abbott, repeated.
